- 0.5 tsp black pepper (For seasoning the chicken)
- 60 g all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (Beaten)
- 120 g cornflakes (Crushed)
- cooking spray (For lightly spraying the chicken)
- 3 tbsp honey (For the glaze)
- 1 tbsp butter (For the glaze)
- 1 tsp sweet paprika or paprika (For the glaze)
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder (For the glaze)
- 1 tbsp sriracha (Optional)
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise (For the burger sauce)
- 2 tbsp Greek yogurt (For the burger sauce)
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce (For the burger sauce)
- 1 tsp lemon or lime juice (For the burger sauce)
- 4 burger buns (For assembling the burgers)
- lettuce (Amount unspecified; for assembling the burgers)
Steps
- 1
Cut each chicken breast horizontally into 2 thin fillets, giving you 4 fillets in total. Season the chicken with the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 2
Coat each fillet first in the flour, then in the beaten egg, and finally in the crushed cornflakes. Press the coating firmly so it adheres well to the chicken.
- 3
Place the breaded fillets in the air fryer basket and spray them lightly with oil.
- 4
Cook at 200 °C (400 °F) for 12-15 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking, until golden, crispy, and fully cooked.
- 5
Melt the honey and butter together. Stir in the paprika, garlic powder, and sriracha, if using, and mix.
- 6
Generously brush the hot, crispy chicken with the honey glaze.
- 7
Mix all the burger sauce ingredients until smooth and well combined.
- 8
Toast the burger buns.
- 9
Spread the sauce over the toasted buns, add the lettuce, and place the honey-glazed crispy chicken on top. Serve immediately.
Notes
The source does not specify the bun-toasting time or the amount of lettuce. Check that the chicken is fully cooked before serving.
