Ingredients

  • 200 g Fresh udon noodles
  • 150 g Large shrimp
  • 0.5 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika (For seasoning the shrimp.)
  • 0.5 tsp Oregano (For seasoning the shrimp.)
  • 0.25 Onion (Finely chopped.)
  • Salt (To taste.)
  • Black pepper (To taste.)
  • 10 g Butter (For the sauce and to add to the shrimp at the end.)
  • 1 Garlic (Finely chopped.)
  • 20 g Gochujang
  • 75 ml Light cooking cream
  • 75 ml Semi-skimmed milk
  • 0.5 Chicken stock cube (Crumbled.)
  • 1 tsp Light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Paprika (For the sauce.)
  • 0.5 tsp Sugar
  • Chili flakes (A pinch, plus extra for serving if desired.)
  • 15 g Parmesan cheese
  • Spring onion (For garnish.)

Steps

  1. 1

Season the shrimp with the paprika, oregano, onion powder, salt, and pepper. The ingredient list specifies a quarter onion, finely chopped; the preparation instructions also mention onion powder, but no separate quantity is provided for it.

  2. 2

Heat the olive oil in a pan and briefly fry the seasoned shrimp. Add a small knob of butter at the end.

  3. 3

Sauté the finely chopped garlic in the butter and add the gochujang.

  4. 4

Pour in the cooking cream, semi-skimmed milk, and light soy sauce. Crumble the half chicken stock cube into the pan and let the sauce simmer gently.

  5. 5

Stir the Parmesan cheese into the sauce and add the udon noodles.

  6. 6

Mix the fried shrimp into the sauce and udon noodles.

  7. 7

Garnish the dish with spring onion and add extra chili flakes if desired.

Notes

The preparation instructions mention onion powder when seasoning the shrimp, but the ingredient list provides no quantity for it and instead lists a quarter of a finely chopped onion. The exact cooking time and temperature are not specified; briefly cook the shrimp until done and let the sauce simmer gently.
