Ingredients

  • 3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup butter (softened)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Steps

  1. 1

Combine the all-purpose flour and salt in a bowl. Set the dry mixture aside.

  2. 2

Using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until well combined.

  3. 3

Add the sugar slowly while continuing to beat. Beat for 5–6 minutes, until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  4. 4

Beat in the eggs one at a time, incorporating each egg before adding the next.

  5. 5

Add the vanilla extract and mix to incorporate.

  6. 6

Fold in the flour mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.

  7. 7

Pour the batter into a prepared, greased baking pan.

  8. 8

Place the pan in a cold oven. Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 90 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.

  9. 9

Cool the cake completely before decorating or serving.

Notes
