Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 taco seasoning (1 packet; the creator added a little extra taco seasoning as desired)
  • 0.5 cup salsa (Use your favorite salsa)
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • 2 cup instant rice
  • Colby Jack cheese (Shredded; measure with your heart and use as much as desired for topping)

Steps

  1. 1

Brown 1 pound of ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.

  2. 2

Add the packet of taco seasoning to the browned beef. Add a little extra taco seasoning if desired, as the creator did.

  3. 3

Add the salsa and beef broth to the skillet, then stir to combine.

  4. 4

Bring the mixture to a boil.

  5. 5

Add the instant rice and stir until everything is evenly combined.

  6. 6

Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and cook for 8 minutes.

  7. 7

Remove the cover and give the taco rice one thorough stir.

  8. 8

Top the rice mixture with shredded Colby Jack cheese.

  9. 9

Cover the skillet again and cook for another 2–3 minutes, until the cheese is melted.

Notes

The amount of Colby Jack cheese is intentionally left to preference. The source does not specify the skillet size, exact heat level, or the weight of the taco-seasoning packet.
