  • Green cabbage (Finely sliced)
  • Carrots (Finely sliced)
  • Mirin (For the slaw dressing)
  • White vinegar (For the slaw dressing)
  • Soy sauce (For the slaw dressing)
  • Sesame oil (For the slaw dressing)
  • Lemon juice (Used in both the slaw dressing and bang bang sauce)
  • Light mayonnaise (Used in both the slaw dressing and bang bang sauce)
  • Honey (A touch, for the slaw dressing)
  • Chicken breast (Cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • Low-sodium all-purpose seasoning (Use with the chicken and to season the breading; source says to use a generous amount)
  • Chili powder (For seasoning the chicken)
  • Paprika (For seasoning the chicken)
  • Egg (For the chicken coating)
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour (For the breading)
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs (For the breading)
  • Sriracha (For the bang bang sauce)
  • Sweet chili sauce (For the bang bang sauce)

Steps

  1. 1

Finely slice the purple cabbage. A mandolin may be used, although the source recommends slicing it manually.

  2. 2

Finely slice the green cabbage and carrots in the same manner.

  3. 3

In a bowl, combine the mirin, white vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon juice, light mayonnaise, and a touch of honey. Mix to make the slaw dressing.

  4. 4

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.

  5. 5

Add a generous amount of low-sodium all-purpose seasoning, chili powder, paprika, and the egg to the chicken. Mix until the chicken is coated.

  6. 6

Place the flour and panko breadcrumbs in a resealable plastic bag. Season the mixture with the low-sodium all-purpose seasoning.

  7. 7

Add the seasoned chicken to the bag, seal it, and shake until the pieces are fully coated in the flour and panko mixture.

  8. 8

Set an air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

  9. 9

Air-fry the coated chicken at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes.

  10. 10

While the chicken cooks, prepare the bang bang sauce by combining light mayonnaise, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, and lemon juice. Mix until combined.

  11. 11

Serve the air-fried chicken with the prepared slaw and bang bang sauce.

Notes

The transcript does not provide quantities for the chicken, slaw vegetables, sauces, seasonings, egg, or bang bang sauce components. It also does not specify whether the sauce is tossed with the chicken or served separately; serving it alongside is the conservative interpretation.
