Ingredients
- 1 cup Warm water
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Instant yeast
- 3 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Olive oil (plus extra for greasing bowl)
- 1 cup Pizza sauce
- 3 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 0.5 lb Ground beef (cooked and seasoned)
- 4 oz Salami or Pepperoni (sliced)
- 0.5 Green bell pepper (diced)
- 0.25 Red onion (diced)
Steps
- 1
In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of warm water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of instant yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- 2
Add 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into three equal portions.
- 6
Roll out the first portion of dough into a thin circle and place it on a greased pizza pan or baking sheet.
- 7
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the first dough circle and sprinkle with a layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- 8
Roll out the second portion of dough and place it directly on top of the first layer. Repeat the process by adding sauce and cheese.
- 9
Roll out the third portion of dough and place it on top. Crimp the edges of all three layers together to seal the pizza.
- 10
Top the final layer with more pizza sauce, cheese, cooked ground beef, salami, green peppers, and red onions.
- 11
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- 12
Let the pizza rest for 5 minutes before slicing through all three layers to serve.
Notes
This recipe is a homemade version of the Debonairs Triple Decker. Ensure the bottom layers of cheese are not too watery to prevent the dough from becoming soggy. You can substitute the meats with chicken or ham based on preference.
