Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 50 g Butter
  • 1.5 tbsp Granulated sugar (For the dough)
  • Salt (1 pinch)
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • Frying oil (For deep-frying)
  • Granulated sugar (For coating)
  • Cinnamon (For coating)
  • 100 g Chocolate (Melted in a double boiler)

Steps

  1. 1

Place the water, butter, granulated sugar for the dough, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  2. 2

Add the flour to the saucepan and stir quickly until a dough forms.

  3. 3

Cook the dough for 4–5 minutes.

  4. 4

Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the dough to cool slightly.

  5. 5

Add the eggs one at a time. Mix thoroughly, adding the next egg only after the previous one has been fully incorporated into the dough.

  6. 6

Transfer the dough to a piping bag.

  7. 7

Heat plenty of oil over medium-low heat.

  8. 8

Pipe small pieces of dough from the piping bag into the hot oil and fry them.

  9. 9

Remove the golden-brown churros from the oil and coat them in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.

  10. 10

Melt 100 g of chocolate in a double boiler and serve the churros with the melted chocolate.
