Ingredients

  • 3 lb Ground beef (Brown and drain)
  • 1 lb Hot breakfast sausage (Jimmy Dean hot; do not drain)
  • 6 oz Tomato paste
  • 1 Yellow onion (Large, chopped)
  • 3 Jalapeño peppers (Fresh, chopped)
  • 9 cloves Garlic (Chopped)
  • 4 oz Hatch green chile
  • 2 tbsp Flavor Time Southern seasoning (Creator's seasoning blend)
  • 3 oz Williams Original Chili seasoning
  • 44 oz Diced tomatoes
  • 44 oz Tomato sauce
  • 3 cans Bush's Chili Magic beans (Campfire style; can size not stated)
  • Zippy Zal sauce (A splash, added at the end)

Steps

  1. 1

In a 12-quart pot, brown the ground beef, then drain it.

  2. 2

Add the hot breakfast sausage to the pot; do not drain it. Cook while breaking it up.

  3. 3

Add the tomato paste. Break it up into the meat and cook until the sausage is fully cooked, allowing the paste to cook with it.

  4. 4

Add the chopped onion, jalapeños, garlic, and Hatch green chile.

  5. 5

Add the Southern seasoning and Original Chili seasoning. Stir everything together and cook for a few minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften; the creator says this took about five minutes.

  6. 6

Add the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Stir until combined.

  7. 7

Cover and simmer on low for at least 1 hour. The creator simmered it for 1½ hours.

  8. 8

Add the three cans of Campfire Style Chili Magic beans and stir them in.

  9. 9

Replace the lid and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.

  10. 10

Add a splash of Zippy Zal sauce to finish.

Notes

The source does not state the can size of the Chili Magic beans or the amount of Zippy Zal; add the sauce as a splash. The transcript ends as the creator mentions the sauce, so no serving directions are available.
