Ingredients
- 50 g Butter
- 100 g Cornmeal
- 400 ml Hot water
- 300 g Suluguni cheese (Slice or grate it so that it melts more quickly.)
- Salt (A pinch or to taste.)
Steps
- 1
Melt the butter in a saucepan.
- 2
Reduce the heat to below medium, add the cornmeal, and stir constantly. Do not leave the mixture unattended, so it does not burn.
- 3
Continue stirring until the lumps dissolve and the mixture begins to boil.
- 4
Gradually pour in the hot water, stirring continuously.
- 5
Cook and stir until it reaches the consistency of semolina porridge: the mixture should slowly run off the spatula. Add more water if necessary.
- 6
Gradually add the suluguni cheese, stirring constantly.
- 7
Stir until the cheese has completely melted and the mixture is smooth and stretchy.
- 8
Season with salt to taste and serve the muhlama hot.
Notes
The author does not specify an exact cooking time; use the consistency as a guide. You can add more than the specified 400 ml of water if the mixture is too thick.
