- 1 tsp onion powder (For the chicken seasoning.)
- 1 tbsp red chili flakes (For the chicken seasoning.)
- 10 mini tacos (Use as the taco shells.)
- salt (To taste; for seasoning the meat.)
- 1 tbsp black pepper (For the chicken seasoning.)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (Shredded; added to the patties before covering with tacos.)
- 10 slices cheddar cheese (Placed on top of the patties after flipping the tacos.)
- 4 tbsp oil (For cooking the patties in the skillet.)
- red onion (Diced; for topping.)
- tomatoes (Diced; for topping.)
- lettuce (Diced; for topping.)
- jalapeños (For topping.)
- banana peppers (For topping.)
- 1 cup mayonnaise (For the burger taco sauce.)
- 0.5 cup ketchup (For the burger taco sauce.)
- 1 tsp black pepper (For the burger taco sauce.)
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (For the burger taco sauce.)
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder (For the burger taco sauce.)
- 1 tsp sliced jalapeños (Optional; for the burger taco sauce.)
Steps
- 1
Dice the red onion, tomatoes, and lettuce, and prepare the jalapeños and banana peppers for topping.
- 2
Make the burger taco sauce by combining the mayonnaise, ketchup, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and optional sliced jalapeños. Stir until evenly mixed and set aside.
- 3
Season the ground meat with the salt, black pepper, red chili flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until the seasonings are distributed, then shape the mixture into small balls.
- 4
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- 5
Place the meat balls in the skillet and smash each one down with a flat surface to form thin patties.
- 6
Cook the patties for 3 minutes, then flip them.
- 7
Add shredded mozzarella cheese to the top of each burger patty, then cover each patty with a mini taco. Press the taco down and cook for 5–6 minutes, or until the patty is fully cooked.
- 8
Flip each taco. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty, then cover the skillet so the cheese can melt. Reduce the heat to low so the tacos do not burn on the bottom.
- 9
Once the cheese has melted, add the diced lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion, along with the jalapeños and banana peppers.
- 10
Drizzle the burger taco sauce over the tacos and serve immediately.
Notes
The source does not specify the exact quantity of the fresh toppings, the skillet size, or a target internal temperature. It states to cook until the patty is fully cooked.
