Ingredients
- 40 g rolled oats (neutral flavor recommended)
- 80 ml milk or water (to soak the oats)
- 125 g Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
- 5 g honey (for the yogurt base; omit if using flavored yogurt)
- 10 g dark chocolate chips
- 5 g unsweetened cocoa powder (for the topping)
- 5 g honey (for the cocoa topping)
- 1 tsp water (as needed to reach desired consistency for cocoa cream)
Steps
- 1
In a bowl or jar, combine 40g of rolled oats with 80ml of milk or water. Stir to combine and let sit for a few minutes to begin softening.
- 2
In a separate small bowl, mix 125g of Greek yogurt with 5g of honey (if using neutral oats/yogurt) and the dark chocolate chips.
- 3
Layer the yogurt and chocolate chip mixture over the soaked oats, smoothing the top with a spoon.
- 4
Prepare the cocoa topping by mixing 5g of cocoa powder with 5g of honey and a small splash of water until a smooth, pourable cream forms.
- 5
Pour the cocoa cream over the yogurt layer and spread it evenly to the edges.
- 6
Cover the container and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 8 hours) to allow the oats to fully hydrate and the flavors to meld.
Notes
If you use flavored oats or flavored yogurt, you can omit the honey to reduce the sweetness. The recipe is highly customizable with different types of milk or dairy-free yogurt alternatives.
