Ingredients
- 100 g rolled oats (rolled oats)
- 500 ml water (use 400 ml if psyllium is omitted)
- 1 pizca salt
- 15 g vanilla whey protein (vanilla whey)
- 3 tsp instant decaf coffee
- 2 tsp psyllium husk (psyllium husk (Flohsamen))
- 1 scoop flavoring powder (vanilla and chocolate chip flavor)
- 300 g non-fat Greek yogurt (0.1% fat)
- 0.5 scoop flavoring powder (same flavor as in the base; the author suggests half a scoop to avoid excess sweetness)
- 1 tsp cocoa powder (for dusting on top)
Steps
- 1
In a pot, cook the rolled oats with the 500 ml of water and the pinch of salt as you normally would. Do not worry if the mixture seems too liquid at this point.
- 2
Remove the pot from the heat and immediately stir in the whey protein, instant decaf coffee, flavoring powder, and psyllium husk.
- 3
Stir all ingredients vigorously. The psyllium husk will quickly absorb the excess liquid, thickening the mixture until it creates a perfect and firm base.
- 4
Transfer the oatmeal base to a container or deep plate and smooth the surface with a spoon so that it is flat.
- 5
In a separate bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with half a scoop of flavoring powder until well combined.
- 6
Spread the yogurt mixture evenly over the oatmeal layer.
- 7
Generously dust with cocoa powder on top.
- 8
Allow to cool and let it rest in the refrigerator before consuming so that the flavors settle and the texture becomes optimal.
Notes
Psyllium husk is key for the texture; if you don't use it, reduce the water to 400 ml. The author mentions that using a full scoop of flavoring in the yogurt can result in it being too sweet, so they recommend half a scoop.
