An old-school comfort-food dish made with shredded chicken, creamy chicken soup, broth, and noodles. The noodles simmer directly in the seasoned creamy broth, then rest so they absorb the liquid.

Ingredients

  • 4 cup low-sodium chicken broth (Homemade or boxed broth may be used.)
  • 20 oz cream of chicken soup (Two 10-ounce cans.)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp chicken bouillon (Used for additional chicken flavor and in place of salt.)
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 large chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 12 oz uncooked rotini or egg noodles (The creator says either rotini or egg noodles may be used. The sampled video text shows gluten-free rotini.)

Steps

  1. 1

Place a large covered pot over medium-high heat. Add the chicken broth.

  2. 2

Add the cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, chicken bouillon, and pepper. Stir to combine.

  3. 3

Bring the broth mixture to a boil before adding the remaining ingredients.

  4. 4

Add the cooked, shredded chicken, butter, and uncooked rotini or egg noodles.

  5. 5

Cover the pot and reduce the heat to medium. Simmer for 5 minutes, until the noodles are al dente.

  6. 6

Turn off the heat and stir the chicken and noodles thoroughly.

  7. 7

Cover the pot again and remove it from the burner. Let it stand for 10 to 15 minutes so the noodles can absorb the remaining liquid.

  8. 8

Serve the chicken and noodles while warm.

Notes

The source does not specify the exact amount of cooked chicken by weight, the noodle variety beyond rotini or egg noodles, or storage instructions. The sampled video text identifies the rotini as gluten-free.
