Ingredients

  • 240 g Mars bars (fun size or chop original size into chunks)
  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 3 cup rice bubbles (puffed rice cereal)
  • 1 bag Cadbury Milk Chocolate Melts (approx. 225-290g)
  • dark chocolate (optional, for drizzling a pattern on top)

Steps

  1. 1

In a saucepan over low heat, combine the chopped Mars bars and unsalted butter.

  2. 2

Melt the Mars bars and butter together, stirring occasionally and using your spoon to break down the Mars bar chunks until the mixture is mostly smooth.

  3. 3

Remove the pan from the heat.

  4. 4

Add the rice bubbles to the melted mixture and mix thoroughly until all the cereal is well combined and coated.

  5. 5

Transfer the mixture to a square cake pan and press it down firmly and evenly into the corners as shown in the video.

  6. 6

Place the milk chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl and melt in the microwave in short bursts, stirring in between, until smooth.

  7. 7

Pour the melted milk chocolate over the rice bubble base and spread it out into an even layer.

  8. 8

If desired, melt a small amount of dark chocolate and drizzle it over the top to create a pattern, or scatter leftover Mars bar pieces on top.

  9. 9

Refrigerate the slice for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate has completely set.

  10. 10

Once set, remove from the pan and slice into squares to serve.

Notes

For easier removal, line your square cake pan with parchment paper before pressing in the base. If the Mars bar mixture is too thick, keep stirring over low heat until the nougat has mostly integrated with the butter.
