Ingredients

  • 16 oz chickpeas (Canned; drained and rinsed. No need to dry.)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.125 tsp salt (Plus more to taste after cooking.)
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper (Optional.)
  • black pepper (More to taste after cooking.)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).

  2. 2

Drain and rinse the chickpeas. They do not need to be dried.

  3. 3

Place the chickpeas in a bowl. Add the olive oil, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and optional cayenne pepper, then toss until evenly coated.

  4. 4

Transfer the entire batch of seasoned chickpeas to the air-fryer basket.

  5. 5

Air-fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket a couple of times during cooking.

  6. 6

When the chickpeas are cooked to your preferred level of crispness, remove them from the air fryer.

  7. 7

Taste the chickpeas and add more salt and black pepper to taste.

  8. 8

Store the chickpeas in an open container.

Notes

Air fryers vary, so use the stated cooking time as a guideline and check the chickpeas frequently during the final 5 minutes. The source says they can be stored in the cupboard for 1 week or more. Avoid sugar-containing seasonings, which may burn in the air fryer.
