Ingredients
- 1.5 lb Chicken tenders
- 2 tbsp Olive oil (For the marinade)
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
- 2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper
- Oil (As needed for greasing the grill grates; olive, canola, or similar oil may be used.)
- 1 tsp Dried Italian seasoning (Optional)
- Fresh parsley (Chopped, for garnish; optional)
- Preferred dipping sauce (Optional, for serving)
Steps
- 1
Add the lemon juice, olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and optional Italian seasoning to a bowl or resealable bag.
- 2
Add the chicken tenders and toss until they are evenly coated in the marinade.
- 3
Marinate the chicken for at least 10 minutes or for up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- 4
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly grease the grates.
- 5
Place the marinated tenders on the grill. Cook for 4 to 6 minutes per side, depending on their thickness, until the center reaches 165°F.
- 6
Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for several minutes so the juices can settle.
- 7
Garnish with optional chopped fresh parsley and serve with a preferred dipping sauce, if desired.
Notes
The recipe gives a marinade time of 10 minutes to 2 hours and a total cook time of 12 minutes. For reheating, warm the chicken gently in a covered skillet with a splash of broth or water, since thin chicken can dry out over high heat. Cajun seasoning, BBQ seasoning, cayenne pepper, or chili powder are suggested variations; if using a salty seasoning blend, reduce or omit the added salt.
