Ingredients
- 1.25 cup orange juice
- 1 cup water
- 3 tbsp egg white or egg substitute (Use pasteurized egg whites or egg substitute made from pasteurized egg whites.)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar
- 1.5 cup ice
Steps
- 1
Add the orange juice, water, egg white or egg substitute, vanilla extract, and granulated sugar to a blender. Blend on high speed for 15 to 30 seconds, or until the sugar has dissolved.
- 2
Add the ice to the blender and blend for another 10 to 15 seconds, until the ice is mostly crushed but still slightly coarse.
- 3
Divide the drink between two 16-ounce glasses and serve.
Notes
For food safety, use pasteurized egg whites or pasteurized egg substitute. The source also mentions that the drink can be varied with banana, strawberry-banana, or pineapple flavors, but does not provide those variations here.
