Ingredients

  • 15 strawberries (washed and sanitized)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 cup milk
  • 1 evaporated milk (1 can)
  • 1 strawberry-flavored Maizena (1 small packet)
  • 1 cup milk (cold, for dissolving the Maizena)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • condensed milk (to taste)

Steps

  1. 1

In a pot, add the water, strawberries, cinnamon stick, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil and boil for 15 minutes.

  2. 2

Remove the cinnamon and transfer the rest of the mixture to a blender. Blend until smooth.

  3. 3

Pour the blended mixture back into the pot and heat over medium heat.

  4. 4

Add the 4 cups of milk and the can of evaporated milk. Stir.

  5. 5

In a separate cup, mix the strawberry-flavored Maizena with the cup of cold milk. Stir well until no lumps remain.

  6. 6

Gradually pour the Maizena mixture into the pot, stirring constantly with a spoon to prevent lumps.

  7. 7

Add the vanilla extract and condensed milk to taste.

  8. 8

Cook for 10 minutes, whisking and stirring continuously, until thickened.

  9. 9

Remove from the heat when thick and creamy. Serve hot.

Notes

The size of the Maizena packet and the can of evaporated milk is not specified. The recipe does not indicate the exact blending time or how long it takes to reach a boil.
