Ingredients

  • 800 g Potatoes (Sliced)
  • 300 g Bacon (Cut into pieces approximately 5 cm long)
  • 40 g Unsalted butter (Softened; for spreading on the potatoes)
  • 10 g Fresh herbs (Chopped and mixed with the butter; to taste)
  • 6 g Garlic (Optional; finely chopped or crushed)
  • Salt (To taste)
  • Black pepper (To taste)
  • Aluminum foil (As needed to wrap the skewers)
  • Skewers (Wooden or metal; use enough to accommodate all the ingredients)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 200 °C. If using an air fryer, preheat it according to the appliance instructions and select the fries setting or a temperature of 200 °C.

  2. 2

Cut the bacon into pieces approximately 5 cm long. Wash and slice the potatoes into evenly thick slices so they cook at the same time.

  3. 3

Thread one potato slice onto each skewer, followed by a couple of pieces of bacon, and continue alternating potato and bacon until the skewer is full. Do not overload it; arrange the ingredients neatly, leaving some space between them.

  4. 4

Mix the softened butter with the chopped herbs and, if desired, the garlic. Spread this butter over the potato slices.

  5. 5

Season the skewers with salt and pepper to taste. Place them on a baking sheet and wrap them completely in aluminum foil to retain moisture.

  6. 6

For an air fryer, cook the wrapped skewers at 200 °C for 20 minutes. Then remove the aluminum foil and cook them for 5 more minutes, until the bacon is browned and the potatoes are tender.

  7. 7

For an oven, bake the wrapped skewers at 200 °C for 30 minutes, until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

  8. 8

Remove the aluminum foil and bake for 5 to 7 more minutes using the convection setting, until the surface and bacon are lightly crisp and browned.

  9. 9

Remove the skewers from the oven or air fryer, let them rest for 2 minutes, and serve hot.

Notes

The original post does not specify exact quantities; the listed quantities are an estimate for 4 servings. The cooking time corresponds to the oven method; in an air fryer, it takes approximately 25 minutes. Make sure the potatoes are completely tender before serving. If using wooden skewers, soak them beforehand to prevent them from burning.
