Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3.5 cup beef broth (A little more may be added halfway through if the noodles need additional liquid.)
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 0.5 cup sour cream (Stir in to taste; source gives a range of 1/2 to 1 cup.)
  • parsley (Fresh or dried, for topping)

Steps

  1. 1

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion.

  2. 2

Season the beef and onion with the salt, black pepper, dry mustard, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

  3. 3

Cook until the beef is cooked through, then drain any extra grease from the skillet.

  4. 4

Add the minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce. Stir everything together well.

  5. 5

Add the butter and cook until it has melted.

  6. 6

Add the flour, stir it into the beef mixture, and let it cook for at least 1 minute.

  7. 7

Add the beef broth and egg noodles. Stir well so the noodles are coated and submerged as much as possible.

  8. 8

Bring the skillet to a quick boil.

  9. 9

Lower the heat to medium or medium-low, cover the skillet, and cook for about 10 minutes. Stir once halfway through cooking.

  10. 10

If the egg noodles need more liquid when stirred halfway through cooking, add a little more beef broth.

  11. 11

Stir in sour cream to taste.

  12. 12

Top with fresh or dried parsley and serve.

Notes

The source does not specify the exact amount of additional broth if needed, or a precise quantity of parsley. Sour cream is added according to taste within the stated 1/2- to 1-cup range.
