Ingredients

  • 1 onion (Cut into thick slices about 1 cm wide)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (For grilling the onion)
  • salt (To taste)
  • 4 Beyond Burger patties (Plant-based patties)
  • 4 slice vegan cheese slices
  • 1 lettuce (Use leaves for the wraps)
  • 2 tomatoes (Sliced)
  • 2 pickle (Slice for assembling the wraps)
  • 5 large wheat wraps (One wrap is cut into a quarter to help seal the four portions)
  • 4 tbsp vegan mayonnaise (For the burger sauce)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup (For the burger sauce)
  • 2 tbsp soy cream (For the burger sauce)
  • 1 tbsp peperoncini juice (Optional; for the burger sauce)

Steps

  1. 1

Peel the onion and cut it into thick slices approximately 1 cm wide.

  2. 2

Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onion slices and grill them for about 7 minutes on each side, until tender and golden. Season with salt.

  3. 3

Set the grilled onion slices aside. Grill the plant-based patties in the same pan.

  4. 4

When the patties are nicely golden on the first side, flip them. Place one slice of vegan cheese on each patty, cover the pan with a lid, and cook for another 4 minutes, until the cheese has melted.

  5. 5

Make the burger sauce by mixing the vegan mayonnaise, ketchup, soy cream, and optional peperoncini juice together in a bowl.

  6. 6

For each portion, place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, a patty with melted cheese, a slice of grilled onion, some burger sauce, pickle slices, another slice of tomato, and more lettuce on a wheat wrap.

  7. 7

Close each wrap with a cut quarter of wrap, then fold the wrap to seal it.

  8. 8

Wrap the finished wraps in aluminum foil. Store them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 weeks.

  9. 9

Before eating, remove the foil and heat the wrap in a pan, oven, or air fryer for 6 minutes, until warmed through.

Notes

The source does not specify an oven or air-fryer temperature. It states to heat the wraps for 6 minutes until warmed through. Peperoncini juice is optional.
