Ingredients
- 1.5 cup lukewarm water
- 2 tsp active dry yeast (Dry)
- 2.5 cup all-purpose flour (About 1/2 cup additional flour is used for flouring the surface and shaping the dough; amount is approximate.)
- 2 tsp salt
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour (Approximately; for flouring the work surface and shaping the dough.)
Steps
- 1
Add the lukewarm water and active dry yeast to a bowl. Stir to combine.
- 2
Add the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix until the dough reaches the consistency shown in the source.
- 3
Cover the bowl and let the dough proof in a dark place for at least 1 hour, or up to 2 hours.
- 4
While the dough proofs, preheat the oven to 400°F (about 200°C).
- 5
When the dough is ready, flour the work surface. Turn out the dough and use about 1/2 cup flour as you shape it into a ball.
- 6
Score the dough with a knife.
- 7
Bake at 400°F (about 200°C) for 25 minutes.
- 8
Reduce the oven temperature to 375°F (about 190°C) and bake for another 20 minutes.
Notes
The source does not specify the dough consistency in text, nor a cooling or resting time after baking.
