Ingredients
- 115 g Unsalted butter (Cold and chopped or cubed)
- 80 g Caster sugar
- 80 g Light brown sugar
- 150 g Kinder chocolate (Chopped into chunks for the dough)
- 238 g Plain flour
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 1.5 tsp Baking powder
- 0.25 tsp Baking soda
- 1 Egg
- 1 Egg yolk (Use one yolk in addition to the whole egg)
- 0.5 tsp Vanilla extract
- 55 g Kinder chocolate (Extra for topping after baking; source specifies 50–60 g)
- Chocolate chips (Optional topping)
- Ice cream (For serving)
Steps
- 1
Place the cold chopped or cubed butter in a large mixing bowl and whisk until slightly creamy.
- 2
Add the caster sugar and light brown sugar. Whisk until well combined and fluffy.
- 3
Add the whole egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until fully incorporated.
- 4
Add the plain flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the Kinder chocolate chunks as well.
- 5
Gently mix just until the dough is combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Portion the dough into balls weighing 90–95 g each.
- 7
Place the dough balls on a tray and freeze for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results. Freezing is important.
- 8
Preheat the air fryer to 175°C (350°F).
- 9
Bake the frozen cookie dough balls for 10–12 minutes, until the tops are lightly golden while the centers remain soft.
- 10
Remove the cookies from the air fryer and top them with the extra Kinder chocolate chunks and optional chocolate chips.
- 11
Open the air fryer and let the cookies cool inside for 10 minutes before removing them. Then allow them to set fully for at least 30 minutes so they do not break.
- 12
Serve warm with ice cream.
Notes
Store extra portioned dough balls in an airtight container or freezer bag in the freezer. Bake them directly from frozen whenever needed. The source does not specify an air-fryer basket capacity or whether the cookies should be baked in batches.
