Ingredients
- 4 只 King oyster mushrooms (Choose large ones; slice to coin thickness)
- Water (For blanching the king oyster mushrooms)
- Bamboo skewers (Soak in advance; for threading the mushrooms)
- 2 汤匙 Soy sauce
- 1 汤匙 Oyster sauce
- 1 汤匙 Peanut oil
- 0.5 汤匙 Sugar
- 2 汤匙 Ketchup
- 0.5 汤匙 Ground cumin
- Chili powder (A small amount; use especially little for children, or adjust to taste)
- Toasted sesame seeds (A small amount)
Steps
- 1
Slice the large king oyster mushrooms into coin-thick pieces.
- 2
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the king oyster mushrooms and blanch until soft and tender; according to the video, the mushrooms are cooked when they reach this texture.
- 3
Remove the mushrooms and rinse them under cold water. Then squeeze out as much water as possible so they cook through more easily.
- 4
Soak the bamboo skewers in advance to reduce the chance of them burning during cooking.
- 5
Fold the mushroom slices as you thread them onto the bamboo skewers to create folds. Thread at least two to three slices onto each skewer.
- 6
Make the sauce: combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, peanut oil, sugar, ketchup, and ground cumin.
- 7
Add a small amount of chili powder to taste; use less when serving children.
- 8
Finally, add a small amount of toasted sesame seeds and mix well.
- 9
Brush the prepared sauce over the skewered king oyster mushrooms.
- 10
Cook in an air fryer, or use an oven; set it to 200°C and cook for about 15 minutes.
- 11
Remove the skewers halfway through cooking and turn them over. Continue cooking until fragrant and golden brown on the surface.
Notes
The amount of soy sauce was unclear in the spoken narration; the on-screen text clearly specifies 2 tbsp of soy sauce. The remaining sauce quantities were compiled by cross-referencing the on-screen text and narration. The blanching time was not specified; the video only indicates blanching until soft and tender. Makes approximately 11 skewers.
