Ingredients

  • 230 g unsalted butter (at room temperature, softened)
  • 130 g fine sugar
  • 2 egg yolks (at room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 290 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (The author used Bonne Maman Noisette; approximately 1/2 tsp per cookie)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 175 °C.

  2. 2

Mix the softened butter with the sugar until fully combined.

  3. 3

Add the egg yolks, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until smooth.

  4. 4

Add the flour and mix until a dough forms.

  5. 5

Divide the dough into 22 portions and roll each into a ball.

  6. 6

Flatten the dough balls. Using your thumb or the handle of a large wooden spoon, make a heart-shaped indentation in each piece of dough.

  7. 7

Place approximately 1/2 tsp of chocolate-hazelnut spread into the indentation of each cookie.

  8. 8

Bake the cookies for 13–14 minutes.

Notes

The source does not specify whether the shaped cookies should be chilled before baking; this step was not added.
