Ingredients

  • 200 g Bacon (Chopped into small pieces)
  • 1 Red onion (Peeled and thinly sliced or chopped; one medium onion)
  • 40 g Sugar
  • 200 g Cream cheese (Preferably at room temperature for easier mixing)
  • Serrano ham chips (For serving; use as needed)

Steps

  1. 1

Cut the bacon into small pieces and thinly slice the red onion.

  2. 2

Place the bacon in a cold skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crispy. Remove it and reserve the rendered fat in the skillet.

  3. 3

Add the red onion to the skillet and cook over medium-low heat in the bacon fat until softened and golden.

  4. 4

Add the sugar to the onion and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until caramelized and the onion is glossy and slightly thickened, approximately 5 to 8 minutes.

  5. 5

Add the cream cheese and mix until smooth and creamy.

  6. 6

Add the reserved crispy bacon and stir to distribute it throughout the dip.

  7. 7

Serve the dip warm or at room temperature with extra-crispy Serrano ham chips.

Notes

The post provides the ingredients but does not include detailed instructions; the cooking steps and quantity of chips are estimated. If the dip is too thick, it can be loosened with a small amount of milk or cream, although this is not part of the published recipe.
