Ingredients
- 1 whole cabbage (Cut off the top and hollow out the center.)
- 3 tbsp olive oil (For rubbing over the entire surface of the cabbage.)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika (Also referred to as pimentón.)
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
- 0.25 tsp chili flakes (Also referred to as hojuelas de chile.)
- 4 fresh garlic (Chopped.)
- 3 tbsp butter
- fresh cilantro (Chopped, to taste.)
- water (A splash, to add to the central cavity.)
Steps
- 1
Cut off the top of the cabbage. Using a knife and a spoon, hollow out the center to form a deep cavity.
- 2
Spread a sheet of aluminum foil over a baking tray and place the hollowed-out cabbage on top.
- 3
Rub the 3 tbsp of olive oil over the entire outer surface of the cabbage.
- 4
Season the cabbage inside and out with the garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, onion powder, and chili flakes.
- 5
Place the chopped fresh garlic, butter, and chopped fresh cilantro inside the central cavity.
- 6
Add a splash of water to the cavity.
- 7
Wrap the cabbage completely in the aluminum foil, making sure it is well sealed.
- 8
Bake at 200 °C for 2 hours.
- 9
Remove the cabbage from the oven and, before serving, baste it with the melted butter remaining in the center or inside the foil.
